Patient consulting in the field of somnological equipment

For patients in need of respiratory support, we offer rental, setup, sale of CPAP devices and masks from the undisputed world leader - ResMed.

For patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea, we can offer a solution using custom-made protrusion splints from the world leader in this field - Somnomed. Our doctors will present 8 of the most modern splint models, make impressions and place an order, and after the splints are made, they will perform a final fitting. We also organize training for dentists.

Breathing disorders, apnea, causes, forms of diagnosis and treatment, how breathing is related to cardiovascular activity - you can find this information in the patient section.

Sleep apnea: CPAP therapy lowers blood pressure and increases life expectancy.

Sleep-disordered breathing affects an estimated 17% of the population, with severe forms (apnea-hypopnea index ≥15) occurring in about 6%. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common form of sleep-disordered breathing and is characterized by repeated complete or partial collapse of the upper airway during sleep. The lack of breathing results in insufficient oxygen supply during the night. The resulting apnea (stopping breathing) or hypopnea (reduced inhaled air flow) leads to increased blood pressure, which in turn affects daytime blood pressure readings.

Studies have shown that OSA can be treated with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP therapy) and, therefore, CPAP therapy has a beneficial effect on blood pressure readings.

A recent study involving over 1,000 patients compared patients with obstructive sleep apnea who were on CPAP therapy with those who were not on CPAP therapy for 4-12 weeks.

The study showed a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure in the group of patients who received CPAP therapy. Interestingly, the effect was more pronounced in patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Patients with severe sleep apnea require longer regular use of CPAP therapy, as they have a more significant impact of apnea on blood vessels and organs.
